Composite bonding

Composite bonding is a great option for a variety of issues including:

  • Repairing decayed teeth
  • Repairing chips or cracks
  • Improving the appearance of discolored teeth
  • Closing gaps between teeth
  • Making teeth look longer
  • Changing the shape of teeth
  • Protecting exposed roots

Composite bonding requires little preparation, and anesthesia is usually unnecessary unless bonding is being used to fill the decayed section of a tooth.

The process is simple and completed in a single visit. Your dentist will match the shade of your existing teeth to select a composite resin color that will closely match the color of your tooth. The dentist will apply the resin directly to the tooth and then shape and form the material to correct your dental issue. Finally, a special curing light will be used to harden the material and your tooth will be polished to perfection!

Material used in bonding can chip, so avoid biting on hard objects. Otherwise, teeth that have been bonded require the same care as your natural teeth. Brush at least twice a day, floss daily and continue with routine check-ups to ensure clean teeth and a healthy smile.
